Last week The Fit Crasher reached an important milestone: we published a review of our 100th studio. Cue the confetti! Pop the coconut water! Crashing 100 different studios is a goal I set for the blog in 2014 and am absolutely over the moon to have reached it. No really, I’m doing celebratory lunges and jazz hands in my living room because – holy smokes – that’s a whole lot of boutique fitness studios!
To help make them easier to sort through, I’ve built a hand-dandy new map feature (click the menu button on the left for locations) and also a list of studios crashed by city. I hope this is an easy and useful way to help find new ways to workout!
I couldn’t have done it without the help of my team of DC crashers, who have been hard at work each week adding names to the list. I also want to thank every friend and family member who has helped make a fit crash happen (I think that’s all of you). And finally, I want to thank YOU the readers for sticking around for the journey and inspiring this site’s purpose for exiting: to bring you the best darn fitness class reviews with honesty, humor, and a whole lotta sweat.
Now it’s time to turn our sights on the next 100 studios and I couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead. New spandex-infused adventures. New fitness fads. Maybe even a few new cities to add to our list!
To help celebrate the occasion, I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and jot down the ten most memorable studio crashes thus far. In no particular order:
- First international fit crash: Frame in London
- The most “what the heck am I doing here” moment: strongman training at The Edge 2.0
- The earliest I’ve ever gotten up for a fit crash: Seal Team PT
- First NYC fit crash: Uplift Studio
- The studio that had me sweating on national TV: SolidCore
- The back to back fit crashing marathon that seemed like a good idea at the time:megaformer + real rider spin class at Firebrand Sports in Portland
- The one that gave me the biggest callouses and weirdest tan lines: Learn To Row program at Capital Rowing Club
- That time I had to borrow a dog to complete a fit crash: Thank Dog Bootcamp
- The most scandalous bootcamp ever to be crashed: Jordin’s Paradise
- The idea of going back here has me shaking in my boots: Tone House
